Juvederm® in Baltimore, MD

Aging is a natural process, but wrinkles are some of the most embarrassing problems that make you feel less attractive. Unfortunately, looking older can also make you unhappy with yourself as a person.

Juvederm® treatments by double board certified and fellowship-trained plastic surgeon Dr. Steven J. Rottman correct facial wrinkles to help the men and women of Baltimore, MD, look younger.

What Is Juvederm®?

Juvéderm® can effectively erase wrinkles around the mouth and nose, with benefits lasting for up to one year. This smooth gel filler works by supplementing the body’s natural supply of hyaluronic acid. Injections are made into the dermal layer of the skin, replacing the hyaluronic acid that is lacking due to aging.

Benefits of Juvederm® Treatment

A Juvederm® injection corrects vertical lip lines, marionette lines around or below the corners of the mouth, and the smile lines that look like parentheses on either side of the mouth.

How Is Juvederm® Treatment Performed?

Juvederm® is a minimally invasive dermal filler that is injected with a small fine gauge needle. You may experience a small pinch as the needle is inserted. If you are uncomfortable with needles and injections, Dr. Rottman may apply a topical anesthetic to the area to numb your skin.

The Juvederm® product is slowly injected, and you may feel a slight bit of discomfort. Most patients require multiple injections for best results. The treatment takes 30 to 60 minutes.

Is Juvederm® Treatment Right for Me?

Juvederm® is an effective treatment for treating lines and wrinkles around the eyes, lips, and nose. The product is also effective for treating forehead lines. Dr. Rottman may also recommend Juvederm® for enhancing your lips.

Preparing for Juvederm® Treatment

Because Juvederm® treatments are non-surgical in nature, there is no special preparation. The short appointment fit easily into your normal schedule.

Recovery from Juvederm® Treatment

You may have some mild symptoms after your treatment with Juvederm®, such as swelling, bruising, tenderness and bleeding. These symptoms last 24 to 48 hours and are localized around the injection sites.

You see some immediate improvement. Juvederm® is designed to work with your skin’s natural processes, so the lines and wrinkles continue to decrease over the next two to three weeks. Improvements can last several years.

How Much Does Juvederm® Treatment Cost?

Juvederm® treatments vary in cost depending on the amount of product needed and the number of treatments for full improvement. Rottman Plastic Surgery offers convenient financing through CareCredit®, and you can learn more on our financing page.
