Dysport for Men

Over the years, the perception of men with lines and wrinkles has changed significantly. At one time, these signs of aging were considered an indication of wisdom and experience. Today older men face greater competition in both their professional and personal lives.

Lines and wrinkles can now interfere with their life goals. Dysport® treatments from double board certified and fellowship-trained plastic surgeon Dr. Steven J. Rottman help the men of Baltimore, MD, and surrounding communities have a more youthful appearance that gives them a competitive edge.

What Is Dysport®?

Dysport® is an injectable cosmetic treatment that reduces lines and wrinkles. The product targets lines and wrinkles caused by muscle contractions, such as those that occur when you smile. Dysport® contains botulinum toxin that temporarily paralyzes the muscles. Once the muscles relax, the lines and wrinkles fade away.

Benefits of Dysport® Treatment

Dysport® treatments are minimally invasive – no surgery needed. No downtime is required with the product, and treatments take less than one hour. The results last three to six months in most men. If you are considering surgery, such as a facelift, Dr. Rottman may recommend Dysport® treatments first so that you can see how you may look after your surgery.

How Is Dysport® Treatment Performed?

A very small fine gauge needle is used to inject Dysport® into the muscles that cause your lines and wrinkles. You may feel a slight pinch as the needle is inserted. Dr. Rottman may use three to five injections for each wrinkle. If the sensation of the injections is uncomfortable, Dr. Rottman can apply a topical anesthetic to numb the area. You see results immediately.

Preparing for Dysport® Treatment

One of the advantages of injectables like Dysport® is that no special preparation is needed on your part. The treatment is very quick, so the appointment fits easily into your schedule.

Recovery from Dysport® Treatment

No downtime or recovery is needed with Dysport® treatments. You do not need to avoid any activities. For the first day or two, you may have some symptoms localized around the injection sites, such as mild bleeding, tenderness, swelling, and bruising. The symptoms are very minor.

How Much Does Dysport® Treatment Cost?

The cost of treatment with Dysport® depends on how many injections are needed. Dr. Rottman is able to determine this during your consultation. At that time, we provide you with a cost of your treatments. If you are interested in our payment options, please visit our financing page. Rottman Plastic Surgery is proud to offer CareCredit® to our patients.

Is Dysport® Treatment Right for Me?

Certain allergies and medical conditions may preclude you from being a candidate for Dysport® treatments. In these cases, Dr. Rottman recommends alternative anti-aging treatments.
