Body Contouring in Baltimore, MD

Little bulges of fat and wrinkled skin take attention away from the more attractive parts of your body. Unfortunately, as we age these cosmetic issues cannot be remedied through diet and exercise alone.

Body contouring in Maryland by double Board-certified and fellowship-trained plastic surgeon, Dr. Steven J. Rottman, addresses these problems, giving the men and women of Baltimore, MD, and surrounding communities sexy, toned bodies.

What Is Body Contouring?

Rottman Plastic Surgery offers the most advanced and effective body contouring in Baltimore available. We can help you improve your buttocks, arms, midsections, and much more. Dr. Rottman uses his extensive experience and expertise in body contouring to skillfully remove excess fat and skin to enhance your natural contours.

Benefits of Body Contouring

Body contouring at Rottman Plastic Surgery includes several individual surgical approaches that target the most common problem areas. Men and women alike face the same challenges as they grow older. Aged skin has less elasticity; therefore, it does not conform to the body as much as when we were younger. Another problem is that fat reduction is more difficult in older patients because our metabolism slows down.

Body Sculpting Before and After Pictures

Body contouring gives our patients remarkable results. By eliminating bulges and tired skin, Dr. Rottman enhances the natural contours of the body. How Is Body Contouring Performed?

Our Maryland body contouring procedures at Rottman Plastic Surgery are recommended for patients with loose, sagging skin and stubborn deposits of fat on various areas of the body. Each surgery is customized to the needs of the patient. In general, though, body contouring is achieved by removing unwanted fat and loose skin.

Preparing for Body Contouring

Body contouring procedures are extensive, so general anesthesia is required for your surgery. Not every patient is a good candidate for general anesthesia.

Blood work and other preliminary tests, as well as a review of your medical history, helps Dr. Rottman determine if surgery is right for you.

Recovery from Body Contouring

Recovery from our body contouring in Baltimore requires that you remain at home for a period of time, ranging from a few days to a week or longer. Additionally, you will need to restrict your activities and avoid strenuous exercise for a few weeks or longer.

Due to the extent of these types of surgeries, you should arrange for a family member or friend to drive you to and from your appointment. You will also need some at-home care, much of which can be easily managed by someone you know and trust. You do not necessarily need a nurse or other clinical person to take care of you at home.

How Much Does Body Contouring Cost?

As an elective procedure, body contouring is not covered by your medical insurance. You are responsible for the entire cost. We accept several forms of payment, including CareCredit®. To learn more, please visit our financing page.

Is Body Contouring Right for Me?

Knowing if body contouring is right for you is largely a personal decision. Dr. Rottman advises you about the benefits and drawbacks of the procedures. We ask our patients to keep two things in mind while considering body contouring. First, many of the procedures leave significant scars. Second, you may gain back the fat if you do not follow a healthy schedule of diet and exercise.
