Eye Lid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
Cosmetic eyelid surgery, known as blepharoplasty, is a highly successful way of dealing with what typically are the earliest visible signs of aging. Blepharoplasty rejuvenates the upper and/or lower eyelids and surrounding area by improving loose skin, fatty deposits, puffy bags under the eyes and drooping upper eyelids.
Dr. Rottman uses specialized techniques that allow for the incisions of cosmetic eyelid surgery to be hidden nicely in the natural creases surrounding the eyes. When the goal is simply to remove fat deposits from below the eye, the incision inside the lower lid leaves no visible scar at all. During the blepharoplasty procedure, Dr. Rottman can reposition and remove fat deposits, tighten muscles and other tissues, and removes excess skin as appropriate.
After blepharoplasty surgery, you may experience some swelling, bruising or irritation around the eyelids along with dry eyes. Such discomforts can usually be alleviated with over-the-counter medicines. As the swelling and bruising fade, your eyelids will begin to look smoother and better-defined, with a less tired look.
